Jeff Cobb will maintain his established ring name for WWE programming following his impactful debut at Backlash, as confirmed by WWE’s official digital platforms. The company’s photo gallery and event recap both identified the former NJPW star by his real name after speculation about potential rebranding.
The powerhouse made an immediate splash by ambushing LA Knight during the United States Championship four-way, enabling Jacob Fatu to retain via moonsault.
WWE.com described Cobb’s arrival as “ruthlessly dismantling Knight with a ringside assault in his first WWE appearance,” while noting Fatu’s apparent confusion about the unexpected alliance with Solo Sikoa.

Big E had hinted at possible name changes during commentary, but WWE’s official materials suggest Cobb will continue using his internationally recognized identity. The decision preserves the 41-year-old’s established reputation as he potentially integrates into Sikoa’s Bloodline faction. Cobb’s name retention follows WWE’s recent trend of keeping acquired talent’s familiar identities (e.g., Giulia, Tama Tonga) rather than rebranding.
