Major Update On Ongoing Issues Between Triple H And The Rock In WWE

The Rock and Triple H frequently disagree on WWE's creative direction, with Triple H often prevailing despite The Rock's influence and boardroom position.

Dwayne Johnson and Paul Levesque often hold divergent views on creative and business trajectories within WWE. Insiders indicate that, while Johnson’s proximity to Nick Khan might suggest an advantage, Levesque predominantly sees his creative visions realized.

Dave Meltzer, writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, detailed these recurring disagreements, stating, “They have different viewpoints on many things. They are at times on different pages.” Meltzer further explained that Levesque, as the person in charge during a period of record business for the company, has maintained his position. “Levesque has gotten what he wanted,” Meltzer continued, citing examples such as Johnson not defeating Roman Reigns for a title to then relinquish it as a babyface, Cody Rhodes not turning heel, and Johnson’s absence from the WrestleMania 41 build (which was his own decision) following the night of the John Cena turn.

Jonathan Coachman, in a recent interview, speculated that Johnson might seek to replace Levesque with Brian Gewirtz. Gewirtz has a professional history spanning over two decades with Johnson, including past roles as a WWE writer.

While Johnson holds a position on the board of directors for the organization overseeing WWE, Levesque currently wields significant creative control. Their professional relationship reflects a historical dynamic from their in-ring careers, where they were not considered close allies. Johnson’s intermittent appearances and reported intention to initiate significant changes have been a source of backstage tension.
