A report concerning a WWE NXT television taping at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia has been contested by Blue Meanie. The ECW original stated on his “Mind of the Meanie” YouTube channel that he directly contacted the venue regarding the rumored booking.
The initial claim, attributed to WrestleVotes on May 29, suggested WWE NXT was scheduled to tape at the 2300 Arena on Tuesday, August 19. This date would have preceded AEW’s planned seven-show residency at the same location.
During his broadcast, Blue Meanie read the WrestleVotes post:

There’s something that came out yesterday I have to address. There’s a Twitter page called WrestleVotes and it says: ‘We’re told WWE has an interesting location lined up for an upcoming NXT TV show. Tuesday, August 19 at the 2300 Arena. That comes just one week before AEW kicks off its seven-show residency at the same venue.’

Following this, Meanie provided information he obtained from the arena:
WWE NXT is not running the 2300 Arena that date. They’re not, you know, running the arena August 19th at 2300 Arena. It’s not true. When I heard about it, I was interested in it and I reached out to the arena. Just, ‘Hey, is that true? NXT’s running the arena?’ And I just got a simple reply of: ‘Nope.’
AEW has a confirmed series of events at the 2300 Arena commencing August 27 and continuing through September 11. This period will include broadcasts of AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision, along with Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor, and a potential tribute show for Dean Rasmussen.
The now-disputed WrestleVotes report had generated discussion about potential counterprogramming by WWE, especially given previous instances such as AEW securing the Hammerstein Ballroom for ROH Final Battle and AEW Collision on December 20 and 21, following rumors of WWE interest in the venue for that timeframe. Based on Blue Meanie’s statement, the specific NXT taping at the 2300 Arena on August 19 appears to be unfounded.
