Damian Priest has outlined his championship ambitions ahead of WWE’s Backlash event, revealing plans to potentially defend the United States Title in his hometown at SummerSlam. Priest enters Saturday’s four-way title match against champion Jacob Fatu, LA Knight and Drew McIntyre with clear intentions.
Speaking to News 12, Priest mapped out his ideal scenario:
I’m hoping that at Backlash I could win the United States Championship for a second time. Then go on and defend it, hopefully have Money In The Bank, and then defend it again here in front of the hometown.
The former champion emphasized the significance of this year’s SummerSlam in Brooklyn, his hometown, calling it “guaranteed” to be the greatest edition ever. His comments suggest WWE may be building toward a championship coronation moment at the August spectacular.
