The groundwork for this debut match was established following Santana’s initial appearance at the WWE NXT Battleground PLE, which led to the encounter with Heights. Prior to the WWE NXT match, a video package aired, in which Santana discussed the personal significance of this career moment.
Santana is one of several competitors to have recently transitioned from TNA Wrestling to WWE NXT. This crossover is notable as the TNA World Championship is currently held by Trick Williams, a WWE NXT performer.
In relation to this, Santana has articulated his intentions concerning the TNA Wrestling World Championship, expressing a desire to save the title and ultimately achieve his long-standing objective of becoming TNA World Champion.
