A high-profile singles encounter between AAA’s El Hijo del Vikingo and WWE’s Chad Gable is now officially slated for the upcoming WWE and AAA Worlds Collide special event on June 7. This interpromotional match-up was announced during the May 25 airing of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Chad Gable’s involvement brings a particular narrative focus to Worlds Collide, considering his documented history and on-screen confrontations with various luchadors and high-flying competitors, including Penta, Rey Mysterio, and Rey Fenix. This bout against El Hijo del Vikingo, widely recognized as one of modern lucha libre’s most accomplished practitioners, presents Gable with an opportunity to substantiate his critiques of the style.
Also announced for the June 7 Worlds Collide card is a trios match pitting WWE’s Legado Del Fantasma, consisting of Santos Escobar, Berto, and Angel, against an AAA contingent featuring El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Psycho Clown, and Pagano Jr.
