WWE Raw’s April 28th broadcast featured a new video segment centered on Rusev. In this vignette, Rusev spoke about his time after leaving WWE, describing it as falling into an “abyss.” He stated that during this period, he underwent a transformation where he found, redeemed, and fixed himself.
Rusev revealed he experienced an epiphany and now feels liberated to dominate opponents simply because he chooses to. He specifically outlined the type of individuals he plans to target, declaring, “I will hunt the flawed, the arrogant, and those who waste their talent like I did.” Rusev added that his process for dealing with these opponents involves hunting, forgiving, and ultimately fixing them, mirroring his own journey.
This vignette follows Rusev’s physical return to WWE the prior Monday on Raw, where he attacked both Otis and Akira Tozawa.
Rusev’s history includes a release from WWE in April 2020. He subsequently joined All Elite Wrestling in September 2020, competing under the name Miro. His final appearance for that promotion was at the AEW Worlds End event on December 30, 2023, before his official release from AEW occurred in February 2025.
