The upcoming AAA Mega Championship match for Triplemania Regia on June 15 has been escalated, as the main event will now take place inside a steel cage. The significant change was made after challenger Alberto El Patron instigated a chaotic brawl during the official press conference for the event on June 10.
During the media event in Monterrey, El Patron launched a violent assault on the reigning champion, El Hijo del Vikingo, and also attacked Latin Lover. The altercation intensified to the point where a member of the press was shoved amidst the turmoil, prompting AAA to grant El Patron’s demand for the new stipulation.
This title defense marks a crucial rematch for Vikingo, who captured the championship from El Patron just two weeks prior on May 31. Following that victory, Vikingo successfully defended the title against WWE’s Chad Gable, who competed as El Grande Americano, in the main event of the AAA x WWE Worlds Collide show.

Triplemania Regia is a landmark event, representing the first Triplemania held under the new ownership of WWE, which acquired the Mexican promotion in April 2025. The card reflects this new era of collaboration, featuring talent from WWE and TNA.
The show will also feature several other championship contests. TNA X-Division Champion Moose is set to defend his title in a four-way match against Joe Hendry, El Mesias, and Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. In another four-way bout, AAA World Tag Team Champions Forastero and Sanson will put their titles on the line against the teams of Angel & Berto, Psycho Clown & Pagano, and Nic & Ryan Nemeth.
Additionally, the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship will be defended by Lady Flammer against challengers Dalys and Lady Shani.
While there are currently no broadcast plans announced for the United States, fans in Mexico can watch Triplemania Regia through the Max streaming service and on the Space channel.
