Cedric Alexander made remarks during a recent Deadlock Pro Wrestling appearance, his third on the independent circuit since his departure from WWE in early 2025, that have generated discussion regarding his future. In a promo, Alexander stated, “I don’t know if you’ve heard, but I hurt people.”
This statement has led to observations that it could be a reference to his past association with The Hurt Business in WWE, a group that included Montel Vontavious Porter, Shelton Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley. These three individuals are currently a part of the AEW faction known as The Hurt Syndicate, which MVP formed after his AEW debut in September 2024. Alexander was a key member of the WWE version of the stable, holding the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Shelton Benjamin.
Currently, The Hurt Syndicate in AEW is in discussions to add Maxwell Jacob Friedman to their ranks, with a decision expected to be formalized on the May 21, 2025, episode of AEW Dynamite.
