During the April 28 WWE Raw episode in Kansas City, Missouri, Pat McAfee delivered a promo while positioned on the broadcast announce table. Within his address to the audience, McAfee referred to himself as a “loyal motherfcker,”* which elicited a significant positive response from the fans present.
McAfee centered his promo on the previous week’s incident where GUNTHER attacked Michael Cole. He conveyed his strong disapproval of the attack and stated his intention to seek retribution against GUNTHER.
To address the situation, McAfee summoned Nick Aldis to the ring. McAfee then made two demands: a match against GUNTHER and the termination of GUNTHER’s ongoing suspension.
Nick Aldis appeared and informed McAfee that GUNTHER’s suspension would remain in place, stating he had discussed the matter with relevant parties. However, Aldis did propose scheduling a match between McAfee and GUNTHER for the upcoming Backlash.
Pat McAfee immediately agreed to the proposal. The match pitting Pat McAfee against GUNTHER is now officially scheduled for the Backlash event in Saint Louis on May 10.
