In his statements, R-Truth commented on Cena’s actions during their non-title singles match and expressed a desire for a future confrontation.
Prior to the contest, R-Truth made a John Cena-style entrance that was highly praised and generated considerable laughter and excitement from the audience. The match itself was part of a storyline involving R-Truth’s attempts to provoke a different side of John Cena.
During the competitive bout, R-Truth managed to hit John Cena with an Attitude Adjustment, though Cena kicked out. Cena eventually secured the victory by employing underhanded tactics; after a moment of hesitation with his championship belt, he handed it to the referee, only to then deliver a low blow to R-Truth while the official was distracted, following up with an Attitude Adjustment for the pinfall. R-Truth’s comedic timing and character work during the event received wide praise from fans.
