Jonathan Coachman has introduced a new perspective on R-Truth’s WWE departure, suggesting R-Truth declined a significantly reduced contract offer.
During The Coach & Bro Show, Coachman shared this, quoting an informed source:
I should put this out there because I had somebody reach out to me. And, reportedly, and I have not confirmed this, but, reportedly, they did offer R-Truth a contract that was far less money than what he was making, and he decided to turn that down. That’s what somebody told me that’s in the know.

This claim differs from initial reports that Triple H initiated R-Truth’s release as part of a talent restructuring focusing on older, less frequently used performers.
The news of R-Truth’s exit triggered notable audience reactions, including “We Want Truth” chants on WWE RAW and social media campaigns like “JUSTICIA POR R-TRUTH.”
Separately, Carlito’s contract was also not renewed, despite an ongoing storyline with The Judgment Day. Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio linked both R-Truth and Carlito’s exits to WWE’s internal budget management.

Coachman’s account, if accurate, posits R-Truth’s departure as a personal decision against revised terms, adding complexity to the narrative of his WWE exit.
