Rare WWE Title Match Announced For Another Promotion

The WWE NXT Tag Team Championship will be defended at Reality of Wrestling’s Power Shift event in June 2025.

The WWE NXT Tag Team Championship is set for a defense outside World Wrestling Entertainment, as the title will be contested at Reality of Wrestling’s Power Shift event on June 14, 2025. This marks a notable instance of a WWE championship being defended in another wrestling promotion.

Current NXT Tag Team Champions Hank & Tank will put their titles on the line against the team of Big Luther & Terrale Tempo. The match will take place in Texas City, Texas, at the Walker Texas Lawyer Arena.

Reality of Wrestling, which will host the championship bout, is owned by Booker T, a WWE Hall of Famer and current NXT commentator. This cross-promotional title defense follows a precedent set earlier in the year.

The NXT Tag Team Championship previously left WWE premises when Nathan Frazer & Axiom defended their titles twice on TNA iMPACT. Their defenses included victories over The Rascalz and Nic & Ryan Nemeth during those appearances.

Hank & Tank secured Reality of Wrestling’s own Tag Team Championships in December 2024, holding those titles for 84 days before this announcement regarding their NXT championship defense.

The upcoming championship defense was announced via Reality of Wrestling’s official social media channel. An official statement read: “🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨 The @WWENXT tag team championships will be defended at Reality Of Wrestling on Saturday, June 14th in Texas City, TX at the Walker Texas Lawyer Arena!
