Following her WWE release in May and the recent conclusion of her 30-day non-compete clause, Elayna Black, formerly known as Cora Jade, discussed her future career aspirations on The Ariel Helwani Show. She expressed a clear interest in potentially joining AEW, among other promotions.
Black stated, “[Would you like to go to AEW?] I would. I would definitely be open to going to AEW. I loved my time there. I have a lot of friends there. I watch all the shows. I love the fact that they have as much creative freedom as they do. I feel like, like I said, I’m so much for storylines and character and stuff like that, so I feel like they are very creatively free in that way. So it’s definitely be something I would be open to.”
She confirmed no discussions with AEW have occurred yet, noting her non-compete period only recently concluded. Black previously wrestled for AEW twice in 2020: once in a singles match against Red Velvet, and another time teaming with Leyla Hirsch against Brandi Rhodes and Red Velvet, though she was unsuccessful in both encounters.

Beyond AEW, Black also conveyed significant interest in working in Japan, a long-held dream that was previously stalled by the COVID pandemic, and mentioned TNA as another possibility. Her immediate next steps, including an appearance for Black Label Pro, are anticipated around June 14, a date highlighted in a recent “Dear Cora” teaser video that signals an evolution from her previous persona.
