After a two-year absence from AEW television, Tay Melo’s official in-ring return has been scheduled for the upcoming Summer Blockbuster event. The announcement, confirmed by Tony Khan, sets up a tag team match pitting Melo and her partner Anna Jay against Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne.
The matchup directly stems from events on the June 4 edition of AEW Fyter Fest, where Melo made a surprise appearance. She intervened during a backstage assault where Ford and Bayne were attacking Jay, with Bayne attempting to throw her off the stage. Melo made the save with a kendo stick, leading to a brawl with the antagonists before officials separated them.
Ahead of her televised in-ring comeback, Melo shared her feelings on X, expressing a mix of excitement and nervousness.

This match will mark Melo’s first official contest on AEW programming since January 13, 2023. Her extended hiatus began after she and her husband, Sammy Guevara, announced her pregnancy in May 2023, with their daughter being born in November of that year.
While she competed in a match for the STARDOM promotion in Japan earlier in January 2025, the bout at Summer Blockbuster solidifies her return to the AEW roster and positions the reunited TayJay tag team as protagonists in their new rivalry with Ford and Bayne. Sources
