An expected timeline for Rey Mysterio’s return to in-ring competition has been established, with reports indicating a target of August 2025. The projection, noted by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and supported by comments from Konnan, could align with WWE’s SummerSlam event scheduled for early that month.
Mysterio has been inactive from competition since sustaining multiple injuries, including a torn abductor muscle and a damaged eardrum, during a six-man tag team match on the April 18 episode of SmackDown. The timing of the injuries forced him out of a planned match at WrestleMania 41.
The WWE Hall of Famer was originally scheduled to face El Grande Americano in a high-profile contest at the Las Vegas event. Following Mysterio’s removal from the card due to his physical condition, Rey Fenix was substituted into the match, which resulted in a loss to Americano.
