Rising AEW Star Voices Frustration Over Company Decisions

Queen Aminata, a rising star in AEW and ROH, has openly criticized the company’s communication practices, detailing the frustrating process she often endures on show days.

In a recent vlog, the 32-year-old performer revealed that she is frequently kept in the dark about her role for a given event until the last possible moment, typically finding out her assignments while getting her makeup done.

“You know what, I honestly feel like every time I’m in the makeup chair, that’s when I find out if I’m doing something or not,” Aminata stated. “So, I was just sitting there getting my makeup done and they told me, ‘Hey, you have a segment and you have a promo.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, okay. Well, now I know what I’m doing.’”

Despite these professional hurdles, Aminata remains a featured competitor for the promotion. During the AEW Summer Blockbuster special on June 11 in Portland, Oregon, she competed against Thekla, highlighting her continued presence on major events.

To cope with the uncertainty, Aminata explained that she prepares as much as she can by getting her makeup done early. However, she admitted the situation takes a toll.

“But you know what I do every week? I go do my makeup as early as possible because, again, I don’t want to rush myself. I just want to stay ready,” she said. “That’s the only way I can control what I can control. Is it frustrating sometimes? Yes. Is it nerve-wracking? Yes. You have so many feelings going through your mind because you want to do so good at your job, but at the same time, you don’t have control over so many things.”

The performer’s professional frustrations come at a time when she has also had to address serious issues regarding personal boundaries. Within the last 48 hours, Aminata spoke out about a disturbing incident where a fan sent flowers directly to her New York hotel room, a package that included her full name and room number.

She described feeling unsafe for days after the violation and issued a stern message on social media to address the fan’s behavior. “Be a fan. Don’t be a creep,” Aminata wrote, sparking a wider conversation within the wrestling community about fan conduct and the importance of respecting wrestlers’ privacy.
