Rivalry Between The Rock and Triple H Deemed Inevitable, Says WWE Analyst

Former 24/7 Champion Peter Rosenberg claims The Rock's current storyline with Cody Rhodes will inevitably lead to confrontation with Triple H over creative control issues.

Former 24/7 Champion Peter Rosenberg believes The Rock’s current storyline with Cody Rhodes will inevitably lead to a confrontation with Triple H. The prediction comes as The Final Boss continues his prominent role on WWE programming since joining TKO’s board of directors last year.

The Rock’s current storyline took a significant turn on last week’s SmackDown when he made a proposition to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Following their backstage reconciliation on RAW’s Netflix debut, The Rock offered to make Rhodes’ dreams come true if he would give him his “soul” and become “his champion.” Rhodes was given until Elimination Chamber to provide an answer.

During the latest episode of his Cheap Heat podcast, Rosenberg explained why he believes this storyline is building toward a clash between The Rock and WWE’s Chief Content Officer. The timing of his comments aligns with growing fan speculation about The Rock’s boardroom power potentially creating storyline tension with Triple H’s creative authority.

The question is, SGG, when does this reach Triple H-level and he’s involved? Because this has to be building towards a Triple H-Rock something or other. It has to. Triple H can’t just ignore the fact that The Rock is now coming down from the TKO board and running roughshod over his show.

This potential confrontation would leverage The Rock’s real-life position on TKO’s board of directors, creating a natural power struggle narrative with Triple H. The storyline development depends significantly on Rhodes’ response at Elimination Chamber, which will determine the direction heading into WrestleMania season.
