The ROH Global Wars event is set to return, with its next installment scheduled to take place in CMLL in Mexico City. This announcement was made by Thunder Rosa during a promo on Ring Of Honor TV alongside Persephone.
Thunder Rosa confirmed the event’s location and shared Persephone’s previous invitation for her to compete in CMLL, stating: “Oh my God, well guess what? Since we like to be together in the ring, we’re going to be back in CMLL in Cuidad de Mexico for ROH Global Wars. So ladies and gentlemen, get ready for anyone, at any time.” This collaboration follows discussions between the two on Ring Of Honor TV regarding the success of the AEW/ROH/CMLL partnership.
The Global Wars branding saw use in February 2025 under Tony Khan’s ownership for an event titled Global Wars: Australia. This event, which featured Athena against Alex Windsor in the main event, was part of AEW’s Grand Slam Australia tour and is available on demand via ROH HonorClub.
If the newly announced Mexico City event occurs in 2025, it would mark the first time multiple Global Wars events have been held in the same calendar year since 2019. Historically, Global Wars began as an annual event for Ring of Honor in 2012, with its initial five installments occurring in Toronto. The event expanded its reach, with the 2016 edition held in Chicago, and became a regular touring series between 2017 and 2019, including Global Wars Espectacular visiting Detroit, Chicago, and Milwaukee in 2019.
