The shocking betrayal took place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, during a chaotic contest that also involved Seth Rollins, LA Knight, Penta El Zero Miedo, Andrade, and El Grande Americano, which ultimately saw Rollins secure the briefcase.
Sikoa publicly responded to the turn on June 8 through an Instagram story. The post featured an image of himself with Fatu, but a large ‘x’ was drawn over Fatu’s face, signaling a definitive break between the two.

The catalyst for the implosion appears to be a comment Sikoa made during the June 6 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Sikoa was caught on camera telling JC Mateo that Fatu was “all gas and no brains,” a remark Fatu overheard, showing visible disgust. This moment of disrespect seems to have been the final straw in a relationship strained since Sikoa lost the Ula Fala to Roman Reigns in January.

During the match, Fatu and JC Mateo initially aided Sikoa against an assault from Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. After Fatu cleared the ring and positioned a ladder, he waited for Sikoa to ascend. Just as Sikoa neared the prize, Fatu grabbed his leg, pulled him down, and yelled, “I hate you.” Fatu then unleashed an attack, delivering a superkick and a moonsault before chokeslamming Sikoa through a ladder at ringside.
The turn may also signal a new direction for Fatu, who currently holds the United States Championship and could be positioned for a significant babyface run. Speculation now points toward a potential match between Fatu and Sikoa at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on June 28, an event where Fatu made his WWE debut just one year prior as part of Sikoa’s group.
