Stephanie McMahon acknowledged the intricate nature of her family relationships during a recent episode of her podcast, an exchange that supports reports of a personal and professional rift with her father, Vince McMahon.
The moment occurred during a discussion with WWE President Nick Khan on the “What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon” podcast. After Khan praised Vince McMahon’s business accomplishments, he alluded to comments previously made by Paul “Triple H” Levesque about the family.
“So, all credit to him [Vince]. I only have admiration for him. I know, as Paul said, Triple H said, at the Hall of Fame speech, family’s complicated. And, obviously, we don’t need to get into any of that,” Khan said.
McMahon prevented the topic from being explored further, though she appeared to agree with the assessment.

“Yeah, we’re not going any deeper on that. But yes,” she replied.
This exchange follows other recent public statements from McMahon that have been interpreted as critical of her father. On a prior podcast episode, she commented that Vince McMahon is “probably his own biggest nemesis.”
The apparent estrangement corresponds with a significant professional divergence between the two. Stephanie McMahon resigned from her position in the company in 2023 following her father’s return as Executive Chairman. Reports at the time indicated that both she and Levesque had voted against his comeback. More recently, former WWE executive Jonathan Coachman claimed that sources informed him that Vince McMahon has not been in communication with his daughter or son-in-law for over two years.
The characterization of the relationship as “complicated,” which Khan referenced, originated with Levesque. During his WWE Hall of Fame speech earlier this year, Levesque admitted that while he had love for his father-in-law, their relationship was complex.
This separation is also reflected in their current business activities. Vince McMahon, who resigned from TKO Group Holdings in January 2024, has since started a new company that includes a former top WWE executive. Stephanie McMahon has no involvement in this venture, as the leadership of WWE has transitioned to Nick Khan and Levesque.
