WWE confirmed on the January 28 episode of NXT that Fallon Henley will defend the NXT Women’s North American Championship against Stephanie Vaquer at NXT Vengeance Day on February 15.
The title match materialized after a series of developments in recent weeks. Vaquer initially earned a championship opportunity by winning a four-way match at NXT New Year’s Evil. However, Shotzi subsequently secured a title shot by pinning Henley in six-woman tag team action, leading to a Number One Contender’s Match between Shotzi and Vaquer. The match concluded with Shotzi emerging victorious following interference from Henley and Fatal Influence.
Henley successfully retained her championship against Shotzi on the January 28 episode of NXT. Following the match, Vaquer confronted Henley, with the broadcast team announcing their championship clash for NXT Vengeance Day.
