Steve Austin Reveals Whether He Plans to Return to WWE

Steve Austin hinted at wrestling again during WrestleMania 41 weekend, telling sources he "might have one more in him."

Steve Austin may not be finished inside the squared circle after all. During WrestleMania 41 weekend, multiple individuals who interacted with the WWE Hall of Famer reported that Austin teased the possibility of another match. One source relayed Austin’s exact words:

I might have one more in me.

This marks the latest development in Austin’s on-again, off-again relationship with in-ring competition. His last official match took place at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, where he defeated Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred bout—his first in 19 years. Since then, WWE has explored bringing him back, including discussions in 2023 about a potential WrestleMania clash with Roman Reigns. Though those plans never materialized, Austin’s recent comments suggest the door remains open.

Austin’s involvement in WrestleMania 41 weekend—despite previously stating that TKO had not reached out to him—further fueled speculation. Observers noted he appeared physically capable and mentally receptive to competing again “under the right circumstances.” Names like CM Punk have been floated as dream opponents, though nothing has been confirmed.

While Austin’s notorious knee issues—which will eventually require replacement surgery—pose a hurdle, his “never say never” attitude keeps hope alive for one final showdown. Whether WWE capitalizes on that possibility remains to be seen.
