AEW President Tony Khan stated his interest in creating Women’s Tag Team Championships as a future goal during a media call for Double or Nothing 2025, while also emphasizing his current priority is restoring the company’s injury-hit men’s tag team division.
Khan acknowledged the potential within the women’s roster for such titles, stating, “That is something I’d like to do and is a goal for me.” He pointed to existing alliances and strong tag matches as indicators of the division’s capability.
Explaining his immediate focus, Khan remarked on the men’s tag division, then added, “I am interested in (AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles). I’m also trying to build the tag division I have right now. It is something I’m interested in doing, and it is realistic to see at some point.” He cited injuries as a key factor in the current prioritization of strengthening the existing men’s tag team scene.
