The Rock recently presented Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes with an ultimatum, asking him to surrender his soul in exchange for fulfilling all his dreams. This proposition requires an answer at Elimination Chamber, where Rhodes must make his decision regarding The Final Boss’s offer.
Meanwhile, Drew McIntyre has secured a spot in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match, competing for an opportunity to challenge Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. McIntyre stands among the few superstars who have successfully pinned Rhodes since his 2022 WWE return.
During an episode of his podcast The Brand, Vince Russo identified McIntyre as the ideal candidate to align with The Rock should Rhodes reject the proposal.
If they crafted this correctly and they really knew how to write, bro, the perfect guy that The Rock should be talking about is Drew McIntyre. And quite frankly, Stevie, that’s really the only thing that could save Drew. They’ve beaten this guy so many freaking times because he’s got the ‘bulletproof.’ Bro, if anybody wants to join with corporate and turn their back on everybody because I’ve been effed over so many times, he would be the perfect guy.
Russo, a former WCW World Heavyweight Champion and WWE head writer, emphasized that such an alliance would provide a fresh direction for McIntyre’s character. This potential storyline development comes as both McIntyre and Rhodes prepare for their respective challenges at Elimination Chamber.
