Speaking on a recent episode of his Impaulsive podcast, Logan Paul shed light on his experience during the recent Money in the Bank match, revealing a painful injury from a high-risk moonsault and his authentic surprise at a key moment in the bout. Paul disclosed that he is recovering from a significant hematoma on his shin sustained during the contest.
The injury occurred during a spot that Paul had discussed with his partner for a June 7 event, John Cena, beforehand.
It’s before the match and I’m telling John Cena, ‘Hey, I’d like to fit this spot.’ He looks at me and he goes, ‘You can’t make that jump,’ and I go, ‘I swear to God I can.’ I found out no one — successfully? Not so much (has done the move) — but believed I could make that jump. It was well-executed and I’m fking alive. But it was a really hard landing. Really hard… When I landed, straight up, I was not sure if I broke both my fing shins.
Paul Expresses Genuine Shock at R-Truth’s Interference
Later in the discussion, Paul revealed that R-Truth’s appearance in the match was a complete surprise to him, as he believed the veteran performer was no longer with WWE. He explained his perspective from inside the ring as the moment unfolded.
Dude, I go through this table. I’m cooked. Cusp of death. I’m sitting there just selling but not selling because this s**t’s real and it all hurts so bad but I hit the move so I’m excited. I’m sitting there like basically knocked out, and Cody (Rhodes) and John (Cena) are in the ring… and dude, out of nowhere comes fking R-Truth who I thought was fired… no one told me R-Truth was coming. I didn’t even know… I’m sitting there and he comes back, I’m like, ‘What the fk is he doing here!?’… then he hit John and we lost the f***ing match!
The physical risks and chaotic nature of the match underscore Paul’s growing commitment to being a more consistent presence in WWE. He has openly stated his ambition to be a “workhorse” for the company in 2025, a significant shift from his previous part-time schedule. This dedication has been evident in his recent performances.
His 2025 campaign has already included a victory over AJ Styles at WrestleMania 41 and a standout performance in the Royal Rumble match. A report from late May also detailed his feud with Jey Uso, which involved an unsuccessful challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24. Despite the loss and recent injury, Paul’s goal remains to capture another WWE championship.
