Following his recent departure from WWE, Carlito has offered his perspective on his standing with the company’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H. During an appearance on the Busted Open podcast, the veteran performer stated his belief that while Triple H liked him on a personal level, he was not a proponent of his on-screen persona.
“I’m not going to complain. I’m not going to whatever. I knew I’m one of the older guys. I’m not gonna get priority, guys. I’m not getting pushed. And Hunter’s not a fan of Carlito. I think, personally, he likes me, but I think he never was a big fan of the character,” Carlito said.
The comments come after Carlito’s exit from the company was confirmed. On June 2, he announced on social media that his contract was set to expire in two weeks and that he had not been offered a new agreement.
During the podcast discussion, the 46-year-old also acknowledged his age as a factor in his usage during his most recent tenure. He noted that he understood he would not be a priority to receive a significant push from creative.
