The Damage CTRL faction has been internally disbanded by WWE, according to a report from Fightful Select citing internal company sources. The decision to cease operations for the group was reportedly made in early May 2025.
Concurrent with the release of Dakota Kai, WWE personnel and on-air talent were instructed to no longer refer to the remaining members as being part of the stable. At that time, IYO SKY was the only active member competing under the Damage CTRL identity.
Several factors preceded the dissolution of the group. Bayley had already embarked on a solo trajectory, while both Asuka and Kairi Sane were sidelined with injuries. By the time Kairi Sane returned to competition, the decision to end the faction had already been finalized internally.
Despite Asuka’s recent return to television, there are reportedly no active plans to reunite the former members. The stable is considered finished from an internal standpoint, though the possibility of future collaborations between the individual wrestlers has not been dismissed.
One source indicated that WWE has not permanently retired the faction’s name.
“if the right opportunity arises,” the source said.
For the present, however, the Damage CTRL group is considered shelved. Its former members are now being established on their own individual career paths, bringing a quiet close to the faction’s run without a concluding on-screen storyline.
