Karrion Kross’ WWE future remains uncertain as his contract approaches expiration this summer. According to Fightful Select, WWE has not initiated discussions about extending the former NXT Champion’s deal despite having only a few months remaining on his current agreement.
The report notes WWE’s recent pattern of continuing to feature talent on television until shortly before notifying them of non-renewals. R-Truth’s recent departure followed this model, competing in matches days before learning his contract would not be extended.
Kross has maintained visibility through social media engagement and merchandise sales while receiving limited in-ring opportunities. His 2025 WWE appearances include just two main roster matches—a singles bout against AJ Styles in April and participation in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 41. Four additional matches occurred on WWE Main Event.

Recent television segments have positioned Kross in a philosophical antagonist role, interacting with AJ Styles and Sami Zayn. However, these appearances have not translated into sustained storyline momentum or consistent match bookings for the 38-year-old performer.
Independent appearances at Florida’s FSW and Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport during WrestleMania weekend demonstrated Kross’ capabilities given extended opportunities. These performances occurred alongside his WWE commitments under the company’s current talent relations policy.
