Recent information has emerged regarding potential creative plans for AEW star Jack Perry, who has been absent from the company’s television programming for several months.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, during a Q&A session, internal discussions had taken place within AEW concerning a specific return angle for the former TNT Champion.
Sapp detailed that these discussions centered on a potential storyline that would have involved Jack Perry working with Kenny Omega once Omega made his own return from an injury hiatus. “There were some ideas floated around for him working with Kenny Omega upon Omega’s return that didn’t come to fruition,” Sapp stated. He also clarified that there was no current information suggesting Perry is sidelined with an injury.
Jack Perry’s last televised match occurred earlier in 2025 at the “Wrestle Dynasty” event. In that contest, Perry unsuccessfully challenged Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship. Since this bout, he has not competed for AEW.
This period of inactivity follows a significant character shift for Jack Perry in 2024. He reinvented his on-screen persona following a notable public controversy involving CM Punk earlier that year.
