Vince McMahon and Triple H Reportedly Had Significant Personal Issues within WWE

Vince Russo claims Vince McMahon has cut off communication with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, amid broader changes within WWE leadership.

Former WWE writer Vince Russo has asserted that a significant rift exists between Vince McMahon and both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, alleging that Vince McMahon is no longer in communication with them. Russo presented these claims during an appearance on the BroDown podcast, hosted by Mac Davis.

Russo stated his belief that if Vince McMahon were to regain control of WWE, he would favor Shane McMahon. He commented directly on the relationship dynamics:

I do believe if Vince were ever somehow, someway, and if anybody could ever do it, it would be Vince… get control of his company, I think at that point he would knight Shane. Guys, I could tell you right now, there is no relationship between Triple H, Stephanie, and Vince McMahon. There is none.

Referencing Triple H’s Hall of Fame speech where Triple H described his relationship with Vince McMahon as “complicated,” Russo offered a different interpretation:

When Triple H is talking during the Hall of Fame speech about how it’s complicated, no, bro, it ain’t complicated at all; he cut you off, bro. He’s not talking to you; he’s not talking to Stephanie. He’s at the Super Bowl with Shane. There’s no complication, man.

These assertions follow the period where Triple H assumed responsibility for WWE’s creative direction after Vince McMahon, 79, stepped back from his duties in January 2024. McMahon’s departure occurred amidst backlash following the Janel Grant lawsuit. Following Endeavor Group’s acquisition of WWE, the company has maintained a distance from its former chairman.

In separate developments, Jonathan Coachman, also a former WWE employee, recently reported that Vince McMahon had shown interest in potentially repurchasing WWE. However, TKO Group Holdings reportedly made it clear that the company is not currently for sale.
