Liv Morgan, one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, sustained a dislocated shoulder during her match against Kairi Sane on the June 16 episode of WWE RAW. The injury occurred in Green Bay, Wisconsin, leading to the immediate stoppage of the match and Sane being declared the winner.
The injury has necessitated substantial changes to WWE’s creative plans for Evolution 2025. Morgan was slated for a significant tag team match, which was a centerpiece of the premium live event. Her tag team championship status with Raquel Rodriguez is now uncertain due to a potentially prolonged recovery period.
WWE’s creative team has not yet conducted the primary meetings required to finalize the new storylines and match card, especially regarding the Evolution 2025 event. This creative adjustment includes the cancellation of a high-profile tag team championship match that was to feature The Bella Twins challenging Morgan and Rodriguez. Additionally, a planned singles rivalry between Morgan and Iyo Sky for the WWE Women’s Championship has been affected.

A report published in late May indicated that Morgan had returned to WWE television on May 26 after completing filming for “Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo.” Upon her return, she was immediately involved in a storyline with The Judgment Day, expressing dissatisfaction with Roxanne Perez’s recruitment into the faction without her consent. Morgan and Rodriguez had recently defended their tag titles successfully.
The complete extent of Morgan’s absence and a definitive timeline for her return have not been provided by WWE. Evolution 2025 is scheduled for July 13 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
