Eric Bischoff shared his assessment of the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event episode that aired on May 24, 2025, dedicating a segment of his recent podcast to the broadcast. He outlined several concerns, starting with the show’s opening match.
The primary issue for Bischoff was the program’s pacing, which he felt negatively influenced the entire show.
Biggest takeaway for me, which affected everything that I say from this point forward, the pace was horrible. It was so obvious in the very first match. Everything felt rushed. That match was just ping ping ping. I mean, it was just the pace of that match and it was consistent from the very beginning to the very end. It’s like bing bing bing bing bing bing finish.
Bischoff elaborated that this rushed tempo prevented matches from developing organically and undermined the show’s ability to build suspense.

There was no ebbs and flows in it… it just took me out of it. There’s no reason for me once they made it to the ring to really invest. Didn’t give me a reason.
Further, Bischoff noted what he described as “awkward” in-ring moments, citing problems with performers’ footwork. While conceding that these details might not be apparent to all viewers, he found them more conspicuous due to the show’s accelerated pace.
It’s footwork stuff more than anything else. And probably I’m falling into the [ __ ] zone for even bringing this up because most people probably don’t notice it or care, but I did.
The duration of commercial breaks also drew strong criticism from Bischoff.
Those supersized commercial breaks, I mean, I wasn’t timing them because I had enough time to get up and go do something else and then come back before the show started, and I’m not exaggerating.
