WWE will maintain its Crown Jewel championship tradition at the October 11 Perth event despite the premium live event’s relocation from Saudi Arabia to Australia this year. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the men’s and women’s Crown Jewel title matches will proceed as scheduled, featuring current world champions against other brand’s titleholders.
Dave Meltzer reports the temporary shift stems from Saudi Arabia hosting January’s Royal Rumble instead of their usual fall event. The arrangement creates a unique scenario where Cody Rhodes (inaugural men’s Crown Jewel Champion) and Liv Morgan (first women’s holder) will see their successors determined outside the titles’ intended Saudi home.
The championship format – established at Crown Jewel 2024 – typically sees titleholders from opposing brands collide to crown a single annual champion for Saudi Arabia. Rhodes earned the men’s honor by defeating then-World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, while Morgan claimed the women’s version over Nia Jax. WWE plans to restore the matches to Saudi Arabia in 2026, with this year’s Australian edition serving as an exception.

The Perth card will also reportedly feature Survivor Series’ WarGames matches, creating a hybrid event during this transitional year. The decision allows WWE to honor its Saudi partnership commitments while expanding major event locations globally. Current champions’ participation remains uncertain until closer to the October event as title pictures develop throughout 2025.
