WWE Multi-Time Champion Loses Title After 313-Day Reign

AZM pins Mina Shirakawa in a triple threat at NJPW Resurgence to win the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship from Mercedes Moné.

AZM is the new NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, securing the gold at the NJPW Resurgence event. The title changed hands during a triple threat match where AZM faced both the now-former champion Mercedes Moné and Mina Shirakawa.

The concluding moments of the bout saw a rapid exchange of pin attempts among the three competitors. After Moné was taken out of action outside the ring, an opportunity arose for AZM. AZM then rolled up Mina Shirakawa to achieve the three-count and claim the championship.

Following her victory, AZM addressed the audience with a microphone, delivering a promo in Japanese before exclaiming, “I am so happy!”

Mercedes Moné had held the NJPW Strong Women’s Title since Forbidden Door 2024. She became the fourth holder of the championship after defeating Stephanie Vaquer at that event.
