WWE has executed significant roster cuts today, releasing former Universal Champion Braun Strowman alongside several women’s division standouts. The departures follow yesterday’s behind-the-scenes staff reductions, with Fightful and PWInsider confirming both main roster and NXT talent exits.
Strowman’s second WWE tenure concludes after two-and-a-half years, having previously been released in 2021. The powerhouse initially joined in 2013, capturing the Universal Championship during his first run. Other notable main roster cuts include:
- Dakota Kai (2-time Women’s Tag Team Champion)
- Shayna Baszler (2-time NXT Women’s Champion)
- Kayden Carter & Katana Chance (former Women’s Tag Team Champions)
NXT releases feature former Women’s Tag Champion Cora Jade and Gallus members Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, and Wolfgang. Some exits may stem from contract expirations rather than direct releases.

The moves come during WWE’s post-WrestleMania season, with several released talents having recently competed on television. Kai notably debuted a new hairstyle last month during her ongoing absence from programming. WWE has yet to comment on the rationale behind these roster decisions.
