The Worlds Collide event will feature a blend of WWE and AAA performers, and there had been considerable discussion regarding which stars might participate, particularly concerning the future operational status of AAA under WWE’s ownership. For Chad Gable, this match continues his on-screen history of confrontations with luchadors.
His opponent, El Hijo Del Vikingo, was introduced to WWE audiences during WrestleMania 41. At that event, El Hijo Del Vikingo was seen assisting Rey Fenix backstage following Fenix’s match against El Grande Americano. While this interaction suggested a potential future encounter between El Hijo Del Vikingo and El Grande Americano, the latter has not yet been announced for the Worlds Collide card.
In addition to the Chad Gable vs. El Hijo Del Vikingo bout, WWE also revealed a six-man tag team match for Worlds Collide. This contest will see Santos Escobar, Angel, and Berto of Legado Del Fantasma square off against the team of El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Psycho Clown, and Pagano.
