WWE Reportedly Planning Major Shakeup for Top SmackDown Stable

Following a major championship victory outside of WWE, the future for two members of SmackDown's Legado Del Fantasma faction is now the subject of speculation.

Angel and Berto of Legado Del Fantasma captured the AAA World Tag Team Championship on Monday at the Triplemania event. The duo, who compete on Friday Night SmackDown, secured the titles in a Fatal 4-Way match, marking a significant championship victory.

This accomplishment has fueled speculation regarding a potential change in direction for Angel and Berto within WWE. The victory raises the possibility of a babyface turn for the two, which could precipitate their departure from the Santos Escobar-led faction.

The basis for this potential development is the ongoing internal strife within Legado Del Fantasma. Tensions between Escobar and the team of Angel and Berto have been evident on WWE programming, suggesting a fracture within the group is imminent. The entire faction could be approaching a complete dissolution as a result of these issues.

The internal problems exist despite the group’s recent success as a collective unit. At the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event on June 7, Escobar, Angel, and Berto were victorious in a six-man tag team match against a trio of AAA stars.

While the combination of a major title win and internal friction presents a plausible scenario for a split, any change to the superstars’ alignment or faction status remains speculative, as nothing has been officially confirmed.
