Lance Anoa’i may not have a promising future with WWE according to a recent report. Roman Reigns’ cousin reportedly signed with the company in summer 2024, though he has yet to appear on any WWE programming since joining.
Dave Meltzer reported during the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Lance Anoa’i has faced criticism from people backstage in WWE. The report indicated there is a possibility that Anoa’i may not succeed in the company.
Lance Anoa’i is there. There has been criticism of Lance Anoa’i that he may not make it. I have heard nothing negative about Hikuleo. You would think that him being there for all this time and not being used is like they must be disappointed but I have not heard that at all.

Lance Anoa’i, son of Samu, has made sporadic WWE appearances prior to his reported signing. His most recent appearance was in 2019, when Roman Reigns saved him from an attack by Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre.
The report provided a contrast with Hikuleo, another wrestler who hasn’t yet debuted but isn’t facing similar negative feedback within the company.
Roman Reigns is currently involved in a feud with Seth Rollins and CM Punk as WWE builds toward WrestleMania 41.
Anoa’i himself confirmed his WWE arrival, though the company has not officially announced his signing or made any public statements regarding his status.
