A camera pans across the exterior of the building as Joe Tessitore sets the stage with his introductions. We see Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Shawn Michaels in separate backstage locations. Additional footage shows Rhea Ripley and Nia Jax arriving at the venue. A limousine pulls up, and Ted DiBiase steps out wearing his iconic Million Dollar Man suit, carrying the Million Dollar Championship over his shoulder.
The opening video begins to play.
Nia Jax makes her entrance. Shortly after, the champion, Rhea Ripley, heads to the ring. Before Lilian Garcia can make the introductions, Jax delivers a headbutt to Rhea, kicking off the match.
Women’s World Championship Match: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Nia Jax
– Ripley won the match after a Riptide.
We see Alundra Blayze and WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry watching from ringside.
Sheamus makes his entrance for the next match, contested for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Bron Breakker follows, heading to the ring shortly after.
Intercontinental Championship Match: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Sheamus
– Breakker won with a Spear.
Shawn Michaels enters the ring for the contract signing segment. Ted DiBiase, Dory Funk Jr., and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan are seated in the audience. The broadcast briefly cuts to footage of the San Antonio River Walk. Michaels stands in the ring, where a contract signing table has been set up, surrounded by ladders. He expresses his happiness about being in San Antonio.
Kevin Owens makes his entrance, wearing a T-shirt that reads “Cody Sucks Eggs” and carrying the Winged Eagle Championship. The WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, follows, dressed in a black suit and carrying the WWE Championship. On his way to the ring, Rhodes greets fans. Once inside, Rhodes and Owens go face-to-face as HBK mediates the situation.
Michaels asks them both to take their seats, but Rhodes and Owens remain standing, maintaining intense eye contact. Owens grabs a microphone and addresses Cody’s comment from SmackDown about him always taking the easy way out. Owens reminds everyone that he could have attacked Cody’s knee at Bash in Berlin but chose not to because he valued their friendship.
Cody interrupts, stating that his sole focus is defending his title at WrestleMania and asking Owens to sign the contract. Owens picks up the pen, hesitates, sets it down, and takes the microphone instead. He talks about winning the title at the Royal Rumble, emphasizing that he has deserved recognition for the past ten years and that he plans to take it from Cody.
Shawn Michaels mutters something about Owens being jealous. Owens confronts Michaels, comparing him to Cody and accusing them both of quitting. He claims he’ll bring more pride to the Winged Eagle Championship than Michaels ever did. Owens signs the contract. Michaels instructs that the titles be raised above the ring. A referee enters, and Owens kisses his championship before handing it over to the official, who attaches it to the hook. Cody does the same with his title. The belts are raised high.
Michaels offers a handshake to Owens, who refuses. Cody, however, accepts it. Owens suddenly attacks Cody. Michaels scolds Owens, but Owens spins him around and sets up for a package piledriver. Cody strikes Owens, allowing Michaels to recover and hit Owens with Sweet Chin Music.
Singles Match: Braun Strowman vs. Jacob Fatu
– Fatu delivers six Hip Attacks to Strowman and sets up for a seventh. The referee tries to intervene, but Fatu shoves the referee out of the ring. Fatu follows up with two more devastating Hip Attacks on Strowman. The referee calls for the bell, ending the match.
After the bout, Fatu tosses a chair into the ring. Security rushes in to restrain him, but he quickly takes out two of the guards. The remaining security team manages to subdue Fatu momentarily, but he breaks free and lands three moonsaults from the top rope onto Strowman.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: GUNTHER (c) vs. Jey Uso
– Gunther delivered two powerbombs, followed by a pinfall to win the match.
