WWE may vacate the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles following Liv Morgan’s legitimate shoulder injury, an event that could significantly alter the women’s division ahead of the Evolution event on July 13. Morgan, one-half of the reigning Women’s Tag Team Champions, sustained a dislocated shoulder during her singles match against Kairi Sane on the June 16 episode of WWE RAW in Green Bay.
During the contest, Morgan landed awkwardly while attempting a single-leg takedown, impacting her shoulder and face on the mat. She immediately displayed signs of pain, leading to a stoppage of the match, which Kairi Sane won by forfeit. WWE medical personnel attended to Morgan promptly, and she was subsequently moved backstage for evaluation. WWE commentator Michael Cole confirmed the shoulder dislocation.
On the June 16 episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer discussed the potential ramifications of Morgan’s injury for the titles held by Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

Conceivably.
Alvarez further explained that the recovery period depends on the extent of the damage from the dislocation.
If the shoulder’s dislocated and you pop it back in, then… it could be a long time, it could be not a long time. I guess it depends on how much damage was done when it came out. There are people that their shoulder gets popped out and they get their shoulder put back in and… rather quickly they’re ready to go again. So I think in a couple days we’ll probably know.
It didn’t look good.
The injury has introduced uncertainty into WWE’s creative direction, especially for a planned tag team title match at Evolution. Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were reportedly slated to defend their championships against The Bella Twins at the premium live event. Later in the Wrestling Observer Radio discussion, Alvarez and Meltzer addressed Morgan’s storyline with Nikki Bella, which was building towards a major development.
We’re in the middle of Liv and Nikki Bella, which is clearly going somewhere.
That’s probably a tag match if Brie’s coming back. And, you know, the last I heard, they’re talking to Brie.
And it would be against Liv and Raquel for the titles.
If Morgan’s recovery extends beyond the timeframe needed for Evolution, WWE may be compelled to vacate the Women’s Tag Team Titles, leaving the anticipated tag match in question. This setback marks another legitimate shoulder injury for Morgan, who previously suffered a labrum tear in 2023 that required surgery and a prolonged recovery period. Recovery from a dislocated shoulder can range from several weeks to approximately 16 weeks, or even longer if surgical intervention is necessary. This recovery timeline could potentially sideline Morgan for a significant duration, impacting her involvement in upcoming WWE events.
