The collaboration between WWE and AAA for the Worlds Collide event on June 7th resulted in record-setting viewership for a live YouTube broadcast in company history. WWE announced that the special achieved a peak of 764,389 concurrent live viewers across the promotion’s English and Spanish YouTube channels.
This viewership high point occurred during the main event contest, which featured AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo defending his title against Chad Gable. The event’s success extended across social media, with #WorldsCollide becoming the number one trending topic globally on X during the broadcast. In the initial 24 hours, the show amassed over 4.1 million views on YouTube and generated more than 32 million social media views across all of WWE’s platforms.
A Historic Crossover Event
Worlds Collide marked the first major co-promoted event since WWE’s acquisition of AAA in April 2025 and the first time talent from the Mexican promotion was featured in a WWE ring since the 1997 Royal Rumble. The show, held at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, was part of the Money in the Bank weekend festivities and was streamed for free. The broadcast featured talent from WWE RAW, SmackDown, and NXT, alongside performers from AAA and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
In the highly anticipated main event, El Hijo del Vikingo secured his first successful defense of the AAA Mega Championship by defeating Gable. The show’s opening match saw the team of Mr. Iguana, Aero Star, and Octagón Jr. triumph over The LWO’s Lince Dorado, Cruz Del Toro, and Dragon Lee. The performance of Mr. Iguana, in particular, generated significant attention, with discussions about potential merchandising opportunities already underway within WWE.
Other key title action included Ethan Page retaining the NXT North American Championship in a Fatal Four-Way match against Je’Von Evans, Rey Fenix, and Laredo Kid. In a women’s tag team contest, Stephanie Vaquer and Lola Vice were victorious over Chik Tormenta and Dalys.
Additionally, the trio of Santos Escobar, Angel, and Berto, representing Legado del Fantasma, defeated the team of El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Psycho Clown, and Pagano. The event received positive feedback backstage, with no reported injuries and high praise for announcer Corey Graves. The Undertaker was also noted to be present backstage for the historic show.
