The new ring name for LFG season one participant Leigh Laurel was confirmed as Jin Tala during the May 28 broadcast of WWE Evolve. This reveal connects to a trademark for “Jin Tala” filed by WWE on April 25.
Tala, formerly Laurel, appeared on the Evolve program in a backstage segment alongside the brand’s “Prime Minister” Stevie Turner, which also served as confirmation of Tala’s official signing with Evolve. It was announced that Jin Tala will make her in-ring debut for Evolve on the subsequent week’s episode, facing Carlee Bright. During her time on the first season of WWE LFG, Tala competed under her real name, Leigh Laurel, as a member of Team Booker T.
The May 28 episode of WWE Evolve also featured the crowning of the first WWE Evolve Women’s Champion. Kali Armstrong secured the championship by winning a four-way tournament final. Her opponents in the match were Kendal Grey, Wendy Choo, and Kylie Rae.
