A new update has emerged regarding WWE’s plans for Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 41 following her unexpected title loss. According to WrestleVotes on SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Q&A, WWE still intends to include Ripley in the Women’s World Championship match.
Ripley’s path to WrestleMania took an unexpected turn on the March 3 episode of Raw when she lost the Women’s World Championship to IYO SKY. This loss came after Ripley had successfully defeated numerous challengers during her reign.
The situation became more complex after Bianca Belair earned a Women’s World Championship opportunity by winning the Elimination Chamber match in February. With Ripley’s title loss, WWE officially announced SKY vs Belair for WrestleMania 41.
Despite this announcement, WrestleVotes reports that the current championship match is likely to change format before the event in Las Vegas.
I did want to speak on the Rhea Ripley part that you opened with. Just quickly, the anticipation is that the match will turn into a three-way at WrestleMania. That’s what I heard today.
The report expressed confidence in this direction, noting that the match structure would evolve in the coming weeks.
Fully expect for that match to turn into a triple threat match by the time we get to Las Vegas. That’s what I was told. If the spice isn’t there between Bianca and IYO, don’t worry, it’s going to shape out to be a little different.
This development suggests WWE is working to maintain Ripley’s prominent position on the WrestleMania card despite her championship loss. The triple threat format would allow her to pursue the title without requiring a standard rematch clause.
WWE has not officially confirmed any changes to the Women’s World Championship match. The company continues to promote SKY vs Belair as scheduled.
WrestleMania 41 takes place on April 19-20 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, featuring two nights of championship matches and high-profile encounters.
