During this past Monday’s broadcast of WWE RAW, the announce team provided a significant update on the condition of LA Knight, confirming he is out of action indefinitely. The company stated that Knight suffered a bruised sternum and torn rib cartilage as a result of a recent attack.
The storyline injury occurred on the previous Friday’s edition of SmackDown. In an act of retribution, Bron Breakker first incapacitated Knight with a spear before Bronson Reed delivered multiple Tsunami splashes, leaving Knight motionless in the ring. Following the assault, it was announced on the show that Knight required assistance to the back and was transported to a local medical facility.
This conflict stems from Knight’s ongoing feud with Seth Rollins’ faction. The attack by Breakker and Reed was direct retaliation for Knight costing Reed his opportunity to advance in the King of the Ring tournament during an episode of WWE RAW last week.
Despite the gravity of the on-air announcement, recent reports have confirmed that the entire injury scenario is a planned storyline element. Knight is not legitimately hurt, and the angle was designed to intensify his feud with the opposing faction.
