WWE Has Explosive WrestleMania Plans for the Future

A new report suggests WWE is considering a monumental shift to its calendar by potentially running two WrestleMania events per year.

The long-held tradition of a single, annual WrestleMania could be set for a monumental change, as WWE is reportedly considering running two of its flagship events each year. According to a report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, a second WrestleMania could be established in Saudi Arabia.

While discussing WWE’s ongoing partnership with the kingdom, Meltzer noted the major events already scheduled there and the potential for an even bigger one.

They got the Royal Rumble there next year. They got a quote ‘WrestleMania’ coming. It may be.

He then elaborated on the logistics of such a decision, highlighting that it would fundamentally alter the company’s premium live event calendar and the very definition of its biggest show.

There could be. Okay? It’s the decision they have to make. You know what I mean? It’s like, if they do that—if they can do two WrestleManias in a year, two shows called WrestleMania in a year—actually, it’d be three because there’s gonna be two nights [of WrestleMania]. And then they could—maybe they’ll do two nights in Saudi Arabia too.

This speculation aligns with previous information regarding Saudi Arabia’s interest in hosting the event. A prior report from Fightful Select indicated that the kingdom has long wanted to secure a WrestleMania, with a longtime WWE employee even mentioning the possibility of a “Super WrestleMania” down the line.

The potential international expansion of the WrestleMania brand reflects WWE’s recent domestic strategy of maximizing its most powerful properties. The company’s decision to hold WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas marks the second consecutive year the event will take place at Allegiant Stadium, a move not seen since 1988 and 1989. This decision was heavily influenced by the record-breaking success of WrestleMania 41, which became the highest-grossing and most-attended event in company history, demonstrating a clear strategy of leveraging the brand for maximum financial impact.
