During a face-to-face confrontation on WWE RAW, Asuka definitively confirmed that the Damage CTRL faction has been disbanded.
Any ambiguity surrounding the status of Damage CTRL was erased during this past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, as Asuka provided a definitive on-screen confirmation of the faction’s end. The declaration occurred during a tense in-ring segment with her former stablemate, IYO SKY.
The confrontation began after SKY interrupted Asuka, expressing a desire to finally have their long-discussed dream match. While the reigning Women’s World Champion acknowledged their shared history, she made the group’s current status clear.
“We are not in Damage CTRL anymore,” Asuka stated.
This direct statement serves as the public conclusion to what has been an internal, months-long process. According to reports from outlets including Fightful Select, WWE officials made the decision to quietly disband the group around early May 2025. This move coincided with the release of key member Dakota Kai. Following that decision, the company reportedly instructed talent and announcers to no longer identify the remaining women as part of the faction.
The group’s dissolution had been foreshadowed for months. Founder Bayley was expelled from the faction in February 2024, leading to her WWE Women’s Championship victory over SKY at WrestleMania 40. With Bayley operating as a solo act and both Asuka and Kairi Sane having been temporarily sidelined by injuries, the on-screen confirmation solidifies the new reality. The former members are now set to pursue individual paths, with a potential rivalry between Asuka and SKY now taking center stage.
