The attack on Chad Gable during this past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW was reportedly a measure to write the performer off television, as he is currently dealing with a legitimate, undisclosed injury.
During a backstage segment, Gable was ambushed by PENTA. The altercation escalated quickly, ending after PENTA delivered a superkick and applied his signature armbreaker, “The Sacrifice,” leaving Gable incapacitated.
According to a report from Cory Hayes of Bodyslam.net, the injury is significant enough that it has forced WWE to alter its creative plans for Gable. The on-screen assault was designed to either remove him from programming or reduce his workload while he recovers.
There is currently no established timeline for his return. It remains unknown whether Gable will be absent from WWE programming entirely or if he will appear in a reduced capacity while he heals.
