John Cena shared a cryptic Instagram post following his shocking heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025. The 16-time World Champion posted an image of Heath Ledger’s Joker from “The Dark Night.”
This marks Cena’s second cryptic social media post since his unexpected betrayal. His first post after the attack featured an image of Harvey Dent aka Two-Face from the same film, a character known for the quote, “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”
At Elimination Chamber, Cena, who is currently on a Farewell Tour, attacked Cody Rhodes after aligning himself with The Rock. The attack left Rhodes in a pool of blood after Cena effectively “sold his soul” to The Final Boss.

Cena did not explain his actions during the post-event press conference, where he remained silent throughout the proceedings. The Instagram posts appear to be his only form of communication following the shocking turn of events.
The alliance between Cena and The Rock formed after The Final Boss had previously offered Rhodes the opportunity to “make all his dreams come true” if The American Nightmare became his champion and sold his soul to him. Rhodes declined this offer before being attacked by both Cena and The Rock at Elimination Chamber.
