With just over 24 hours to go until WWE WrestleMania 42 kicks off in Las Vegas, Nevada, tensions are running higher than ever, and Roman Reigns, one of the event’s top stars, has made a promise with major implications.
In a recent interview with Michael Cole on the WWE’s official YouTube channel, Reigns talked about his World Heavyweight Championship match against CM Punk, vowing to leave the company if he loses.
“I would bring this place back to relevance. I would redefine the standard. I already set the standard, but everything got out of control. Someone needs to come in and fix this. And that’s what I would do. If I lose to CM Punk at WrestleMania, I no longer belong in WWE. I think if I lost on Sunday, I’d say my work here is done.”
It’s worth noting that Reigns, along with Trick Williams and Penta, is heavily favored to walk out of the event as champion.
This match has everything to go down in history, as it will be Punk’s first WrestleMania main event, and after two years, Reigns will have the chance to win a world title again.
